Mintz Levin’s Summer Associate Program is designed to help you answer one very important question: Which area of practice is right for you?
Your summer assignments are no different from what you’ll tackle as a junior Associate. You attend client meetings, observe trials and depositions, and participate in transactional work sessions. In short, you help us respond to our clients’ needs. Because we recognize the benefit of balance, your experience as a Summer Associate will be rounded out with activities that may include sporting events, plays, community service projects, wine tastings, hot air balloon rides, or other fun in the sun.
Each Summer Associate is assigned a Member mentor, an Associate mentor, and a writing mentor to assist you throughout the summer. The mentors, many of whom were past participants in the program, provide a wealth of information and guidance on issues such as integration into the firm, generation of assignments, and development of the basic skills necessary for success as a lawyer.
Mintz Levin’s Summer Associate Program received near-perfect scores in the 2007 American Lawyer Summer Associates Survey and was ranked third in the country for training and guidance, and fifth overall in the nation.
“From what I’ve heard from friends at other firms, Mintz Levin stands far and above others in training and investing in its employees. I really enjoyed the sessions and I think that they will contribute to making me a more well-rounded lawyer. It really shows that Mintz Levin cares about its new Associates.”
“The mentor relationship helped me the most. My mentor was great! She introduced us to individuals we wanted to meet, gave us a real perspective on the work that she did, and helped us get assignments we were interested in.”
“It was really exciting to have exposure to—and the opportunity to work with—some of the most cutting-edge start-ups coming out of places like MIT, as well as companies that are proven international leaders in major industries.”
