Mintz Levin to host a webinar, "Acquisitions in a Distressed Environment"

On Thursday, February 12, 2009, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Mintz Levin is presenting a webinar entitled "Acquisitions in a Distressed Environment." This hour-long discussion will feature a panel of Mintz Levin Bankruptcy and Corporate attorneys. Together they will discuss the specific provisions of the Bankruptcy Code that are relevant in a distressed acquisition, including those which involve licenses.
Daniel S. Bleck, a member in the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Commercial Law Section, will chair the panel. In addition, Stuart Hirshfield, also a member in the Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Commercial Law Section, and Joel I. Papernik, a member in the Corporate practice and co-chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice, will sit on the panel and respond to questions, including:
- What corporate authority is necessary?
- What protections may be available under the Bankruptcy Code
when acquiring distressed assets? - What are the risks any purchaser or seller faces in the
acquisition of distressed assets? What are the opportunities?
