On Monday, June 7, 2010, Steve Weiner, a member in the Health Law practice, will serve on a panel at the Annual Convention of the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in Chicago. This panel will discuss conflicts of interest affecting physicians as researchers, educators and clinicians.
Other panel participants include Richard M. Goldberg MD, Distinguished Professor of Gastrointestinal Cancer Research, Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Associate Director for Clinical Research of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Physician-in-Chief of the North Carolina Cancer Hospital, University of North Carolina Medical Center; and Bernard Lo, MD, Professor of Medicine at University of California at San Francisco, Director of the Program in Medical Ethics for the University of California, and co-author of the Institute of Medicine’s 2009 Report on Conflict of Interest.
