Los Angeles, CA
10/7/2010
11:30 am - 1:30 pm

On Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Harvey Safestein will be speaking at an LACBA program titled “What You Should Know About Price-Discrimination Laws.” Antitrust-law expert Harvey Saferstein will give a clear and pragmatic description of the complex federal and California price-discrimination laws, emphasizing how attorneys can and should advise corporate clients in complying with these laws, which affect the pricing decisions of buyers and sellers in numerous business industries offering commodity-type products. The presentation will also cover the recent Bay Guardian below-cost-pricing case. Mr. Saferstein is a former president of the State Bar of California, a former Los Angeles regional director of the Federal Trade Commission, and the current managing member of Mintz Levin's Los Angeles office. He is also a long-time member of the Executive Committee of LACBA's Antitrust and Unfair Business Practices Section. For many years, Mr. Saferstein has advised companies on price-discrimination laws and lectured publicly on the subject; he also has testified before the U.S. Congress's Antitrust Modernization Commission on the topic. This program will also be available as a live webcast.
