Supreme Court & the Travel Ban

World Boston: A World Affairs Council

Time: 10:00AM - 10:30AM

Location: Teleconference

On June 26, the U.S. Supreme Court not only decided to hear the Administration's case on the proposed travel ban in October, but also allowed a limited ban to take effect on June 29.  While the Court has yet to rule, even in the interim, many questions are emerging.

For example, travelers from affected countries may get U.S. visas, provided they can demonstrate a close relationship with family or an institution such as a business or university, but it is not clear exactly what relationships will qualify, and who will determine if they do.  Also unclear is the potential impact in our communities, particularly in areas like Greater Boston, whose business, research, and academic sectors have traditionally relied on easy access for foreign employees and scholars.

Join us for this national World Affairs Council of America KNOW NOW teleconference call with Mintz Levin's Susan Cohen, who will discuss the background and context of the Supreme Court decision, and what might happen next.  An opportunity for Q&A will be provided.
