Health Care Fraud Enforcement Developments and Whistleblower Avoidance

Mintz Member Karen Lovitch will be participating in the Lab Institute's virtual event, speaking at a session focused on Health Care Fraud Enforcement alongside co-panelist Ginger Appleberry (Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, Caris Life Sciences). The discussion will include a review of recent enforcement activity involving the laboratory industry as well as overview of the federal False Claims Act, with a focus on the qui tam provisions, and relevant state laws permitting whistleblower actions. The panelists will also discuss False Claims Act case statistics (including who brings qui tam actions), and strategies for avoiding qui tam actions.
