Mintz Member Dianne Bourque was quoted in an article published by Bloomberg Law about how the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) proposed the use of an algorithm in hospitals that guesses people’s race to improve health inequity gaps. The artificial intelligence is intended to serve as a stand-in until CMS can get patients to self-identify.
