Megan Gates will be presenting on “Board Governance – From Theory to Practice” as part of Athena San Diego’s “On Board” series. This session will cover governance inside the boardroom, how a Board Member discovers and validates an issue, consensus and trust building, and issues such as poor leadership, employee issues, etc.
The seminar will also include a case study on Class Action, gender discrimination at Home Depot. Attendees will hear from Faye Wilson, who was the first and only woman on the Board at the time. Learn how to validate/ascertain facts surrounding a gender discrimination suit, or other issue, deal with a Board who is in denial of a situation, and how this situation changed the culture of Home Depot.
