Alden Bianchi will speak in the session, "Current Developments in Health Care Reform," at Staffing World 2012 presented by the American Staffing Association (ASA).
ASA and its business allies have worked with the Obama administration for more than a year to mitigate the impact of the Affordable Care Act on stafing firms and other businesses whose employees' work patterns are variable and unpredictable.
This session examines the recent guidance issued by the administration, at ASA's urging, that will allow staffing firms to use a "look back" safe harbor of up to 12 months to determine whether employees are "full time" for the purpose of offering health insurance coverage or paying penalties under the employer responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act. The workshop also addresses the challenges, and potential solutions, in offering health insurance to temporary employees.
