    (Mark J. Riedy, Faculty )

Mark Riedy will moderate the webinar, "Renewable Fuel Standard -- The Proven Way to Reduce Oil Dependence," co-hosted by the 25x'25 Alliance and ACORE.

This webinar will provide participants with a "101" overview of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), its origin, objectives, contents, impacts and the critical importance of maintaining the impressive and cost-effective momentum it has created.

Speakers will highlight the opportunities, obstacles and challenges currently facing the RFS while exploring the path forward for American biofuels industries.

This panel will explore the biofuels industry in the United States and its various contributions to job creation, economic development, national/ energy security and greenhouse gas stabilization (now recognized by both presidential candidates).

The information imparted is intended to be useful in encouraging the audience to communicate their interests to EPA during the comment period initiated by requests from several governors to weaken the RFS to reduce the price of corn to the animal feeding industries.
