On October 15, 2010, Mark J. Riedy, a member in Mintz Levin’s Energy and Clean Technology Practice Group, delivered this presentation, entitled “Financing Biomass-to-Power and Advanced Biofuels,” at the Infocast Biomass Finance and Investment Summit 2010. He was invited to perform the presentation again at the Infocast Cellulosic Biofuels Summit 2010 and the Green Power Conferences Advanced Biofuels Markets in November, 2010. In it, Mr. Riedy addresses the financing of biomass feedstocks into biomass-to-power and advanced biofuels facilities, the effects of the 2009 Stimulus Package on renewable energy tax credits, and other energy and financing-related issues. He also presents our new and unique, credit enhanced bond finance mechanism which would replace commercial debt in renewable energy finance transactions at significantly less interest rates and substantially longer tenors. This highly flexible financing mechanism is best suited to companies trying to construct a portfolio of renewable energy projects domestically and internationally.
