Cynthia Larose, a Member in Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C.'s Corporate section, has been selected as one of the "Top Ten Women Corporate Lawyers in Boston," in the January 2009 issue of Women's Business Boston. A Member in the firm's Boston office, Ms. Larose represents companies in information, communications and technology, including e-commerce and other electronic transactions. She counsels clients through all stages of the "corporate lifecycle," from start-ups to mid- and later stage financings to IPOs. Her work with technology companies includes licensing, strategic alliances and financings, complex outsourcing transactions and privacy and data breach incident response counseling. Ms. Larose assists companies and educational institutions with the challenges of varied and changing privacy and information management compliance, including compliance with laws such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the PATRIOT Act, state data and information security laws and international privacy laws. She has achieved designation as a CIPP (Certified Information Privacy Professional), and is a frequent speaker on privacy issues at conferences and presents privacy awareness and compliance training seminar to client companies.
Ms. Larose is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Computer Law Association, American Women in Radio and Television, and is New England Co-Chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association. In 2005, Women's Business Boston named her one of the Top 10 Women Lawyers in the city, and Super Lawyers recognized her as a Massachusetts Rising Star. She has also been named "Best General Lawyer for a High-Tech Firm" by Boston Digital Industry News
Ms. Larose has a B.A. in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and received an M.S., with distinction, in broadcast journalism from the Boston University College of Communications. She received her J.D. cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Probate Law Journal.
