Patrick J. Sharkey Named Vice-Chair of Massachusetts Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Nominations

Boston, MA - October 5, 2007 - Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. announced that Patrick J. Sharkey, the firm's Ethics and Professional Responsibility Counsel, and a Member in the firm's Litigation section, has been appointed Vice-Chair of the Massachusetts Joint Bar Committee on Judicial Nominations. Mr. Sharkey was appointed to the committee by Boston Bar Association President Tony Doniger.
As Vice-Chair Mr. Sharkey will work with other committee members to review, evaluate, and make recommendations on the qualifications of individuals under consideration for judicial appointment in Massachusetts. Mr. Sharkey serves as Mintz Levin's advisor with respect to all matters of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. He is also a member of the Boston Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics, including several years as its Co-Chair. Mr. Sharkey's practice focuses on matters involving the fiduciary duty of officers and directors, securities law issues and representation of financial services professionals.
He received his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, and J.D. from Northeastern University.
