Series to Focus on Intellectual Property, Licensing and Legal Issues
Palo Alto, CA – Mintz Levin intellectual property attorneys Bryan J. Sinclair and Pedro F. Suarez will be featured speakers at the Entrepreneurial Best Practices Series at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 6:30-8:30 pm. The series will focus on the practical aspects of entrepreneurial activity.
Mr. Sinclair and Mr. Suarez will discuss the benefits of various intellectual property strategies commonly employed by start-up companies and will provide an overview of several intellectual property legal terms and how they relate to entrepreneurs and their businesses.
Mr. Sinclair practices in Mintz Levin's Palo Alto office. He specializes in intellectual property litigation, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property counseling, licensing, protection and enforcement. He spends most of his time working as an IP litigator representing clients in various federal courts across the United States. In addition, he regularly counsels clients with respect to IP creation, freedom to operate, market risk assessments, and IP due diligence as a part of cross-disciplinary teams composed of patent, corporate and litigation counsel.
Throughout his career, he has focused on technology companies in the semiconductor, consumer electronics, software and Internet networking industries and represented companies ranging from less than five employees to those generating in excess of $1B in annual revenue.
Mr. Suarez, who is Of Counsel in Mintz Levin's San Diego and Palo Alto offices, has a broad range of experience handling patent matters for emerging and global, high-technology companies. His practice is focused on all aspects of patent law, including preparation and prosecution of patent applications, due diligence investigations, litigation, and client counseling, with an emphasis on software, telecommunications, wireless communications, semiconductors, medical products, image processing and business methods. He is on the board of directors of STC.UNM, a non-profit organization responsible for protecting and transferring technology innovations for the University of New Mexico.
