R. Robert Popeo Receives Curtin Public Interest Award from Boston College Law School

Boston, MA – On Thursday, March 26, Boston College Law School's Public Interest Law Foundation held its 21st annual auction in honor of R. Robert Popeo, Chairman of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C.  The foundation presented Mr. Popeo with the Mary Daly Curtin and John J. Curtin Jr. Award for Public Interest, for his commitment to civic causes and the firm's strong pro bono program. 

Mr. Popeo's distinguished legal career in the public and private sector spans four decades.  He is a Member in Mintz Levin's Litigation section, a member of the firm's Policy Committee, and firm Chairman.  He has a longstanding commitment to the community, where he has served on the boards of the National Conference of Christians and Jews, Massachusetts Mental Health Research Corporation, Catholic Charitable Bureau, Glover Memorial Hospital, the American Cancer Society, and the United Way of Massachusetts Bay.  He is also a member of the Board of Overseers of Northeastern University, the Board of Advisors of Birmingham Business School, a Trustee of Boston College, a former Trustee of Newton Country Day School, a member of the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Business Round Table, and served as the Chair of the American Heart Association Heart Ball in 2008.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Mr. Popeo received his A.B. from Northeastern University (1958), and his J.D. from Boston College Law School (1961).
