San Diego, CA – Recognized corporate and securities attorney Eddie Wang Rodriguez, a member of Mintz Levin's policy committee who has played a key role in developing the firm's West Coast presence, has been named Managing Member of its San Diego office. He succeeds Craig Hunsaker who is joining his long-time client, NuVasive, Inc., as its Vice President of Legal Affairs.
Mr. Rodriguez joined Mintz Levin in 2006 as part of a group of leading attorneys who were recruited to anchor the firm's new San Diego office and further expand its corporate and securities, intellectual property, litigation and employment practices. Since then, Mintz Levin's San Diego office has more than tripled in size, expanding to more than 30 attorneys, many of whom have been consistently ranked among the top attorneys in their fields.
"Over the past three years, Mintz Levin has established a formidable presence in the San Diego market, having attracted numerous talented attorneys and become an integral part of the area's vibrant life sciences, corporate, intellectual property and technology communities," said Robert Bodian, Mintz Levin's Managing Member. "Craig has been instrumental in this process and we wish him well as he pursues his next career chapter.
"As we look ahead, we see tremendous opportunity on the West Coast," he added. “We've created a strong foundation from which we can continue to build and are now focusing on expanding client relationships by continuing to demonstrate even greater value and flexibility. Having served in firm-wide leadership positions for several years, Eddie is well-suited to head the San Diego office and continue to help us build on our successes."
Mr. Rodriguez' practice focuses on a full range of corporate and securities matters, including corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, venture financing, technology licensing, and general business counseling for both public and private companies.
Having represented clients in more than 200 mergers and acquisitions transactions and in connection with numerous securities offerings, he has extensive experience counseling public and private companies in the life science, telecommunications, software, hardware, e-commerce and information technology industries.
