Robert P. Taylor and Bryan J. Sinclair to Present on "Standards Setting Organizations & Patent Pooling" at 21st Annual Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel's All Hands Meeting

Palo Alto, CARobert P. Taylor, Managing Member of the Palo Alto office of law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC and Bryan J. Sinclair, member in the firm's Palo Alto office, will discuss "Standards Setting Organizations & Patent Pooling" at the 21st Annual Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel's All Hands Meeting on December 3, 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

Drawing on decisions from key legal cases, Messrs. Taylor and Sinclair will present practical advice and explore how standards setting organizations can limit difficulties presented by changes in information technology and intellectual property rights, and the guidelines, restrictions and potential anticompetitive effects of patent pools. The presentation will also address how overlooking these considerations can be harmful to a company's claims of intellectual property and patent rights.

The Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel’s All Hands Meeting is an invitation-only event, produced annually in cooperation with the Silicon Valley Association of General Counsel.  The meeting features a full day of expert presentations on topics such as Technology Agreements, Advanced Intellectual Property, and Life Sciences among other topics.  Founded twenty years ago, the SVAGC includes participating chief legal officers from more than 100 leading Bay Area corporations, representing the full spectrum of the high-technology sector.
