Boston, MA – Julie Korostoff, a Member in Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C.'s Corporate section, has been named to Nightingale's Healthcare News 2009 list of Outstanding Healthcare Information Technology Lawyers.
A Member in the firm's Boston office, Ms. Korostoff regularly represents clients in the acquisition, licensing and disposition of technology, data and other intellectual property assets. She has extensive experience structuring and negotiating domestic and international contracts for software development, licensing, support and distribution as well as for IT consulting and outsourcing arrangements.
In the healthcare sector, Ms. Korostoff represents clients facing specific security, HIPAA, and other regulatory challenges. She counsels companies selling technology to hospitals, health plans, physician practice groups and other health-related entities as well as hospitals and other health-related organizations that are procuring technology systems and related services. Ms. Korostoff's recent transactions include serving as counsel to a prominent health system in the sourcing and procurement of IT systems and services; representing an innovative health IT software company in negotiations of strategic license arrangements with several large health plans; and counseling a clinical information system software company in the sale of its services to large U.S. and Canadian hospitals.

In April 2009, Women's Business Boston named Ms. Korostoff one of the "Top Ten Women Lawyers in Boston," based on responses from firm clients and Women's Business readers. She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York. She received her B.A. cum laude from Wellesley College in 1984 and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 where she served as Articles Editor of the Comparative Labor Law Journal and was awarded the Herman J. Lazarus prize for best comment on a comparative labor law topic.
