Mintz Levin Receives its Fourth Consecutive Perfect Score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2011 Corporate Equality Index

Boston, MA - For the fourth consecutive year, Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. has received a top rating of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index.  The report examines and rates large U.S. employers and their benefits and protections for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender employees. 

The 2011 Corporate Equality Index rated over 600 businesses nationwide based on various factors including non-discrimination policies, benefits for domestic partners and transgender employees, organizational LGBT competency, responsible citizenship and public commitment to outside LGBT-specific efforts.  As a top rated firm, Mintz Levin will also be included in the Human Rights Campaign's "Best Places to Work" list.

"This is an important recognition for our firm and one that we take very seriously," said Jennifer Rubin, Chair of Mintz Levin's Diversity Committee and a Member of the firm’s Employment, Labor and Benefits practice. "Every employee, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity, has a fundamental right to be treated equally and fairly. Having policies and programs in the workplace that ensure those rights are respected, is of the utmost importance."

Mintz Levin is committed to encouraging and supporting diversity in its firm culture. An 18-member Diversity Committee, consisting of partners and non-attorney professionals, convenes monthly to introduce and review policies which aid in the recruiting, retention and mentoring of its diverse employees.  The firm also promotes the establishment of affinity groups such as the GLBT Group, Minority Attorneys Group, and Women Attorneys Group, to provide peer to peer support and mentoring.
