Mintz Levin Attorney Dawn Saunders Honored with "Women Who Mean Business" Award by the San Diego Business Journal

San Diego, CA – Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. commercial real estate attorney Dawn Saunders was selected as one of the 2010 "Women Who Mean Business" by the San Diego Business Journal.  The honorees were recognized at a luncheon on Thursday, October 28, 2010 in San Diego, CA. 

The 17th Annual "Women Who Mean Business" Awards recognize dynamic women business leaders and role models, selected for their achievements and contributions to San Diego companies.  Ms. Saunders was one of 30 professionals to receive this honor out of nearly 150 nominees.

"Dawn is an impressive and dynamic attorney who is highly regarded as a mentor for young attorneys as well as for her work in the San Diego real estate community," said Eddie Wang Rodriguez, Managing Member of Mintz Levin’s San Diego office. "We congratulate her on this terrific honor."

Ms. Saunders is a well regarded commercial real estate attorney with an extensive background in commercial leasing on both the landlord and tenant side.  She has built an outstanding reputation among both tenants and landlords in the region for her commercial leasing work and ability to creatively solve complex problems.  She is a well known figure in the local real estate community, with high profile clients including technology and biotech companies, retail, medical and start-up companies, among others. 

Ms. Saunders is also an active member of the San Diego community, volunteering, fundraising and attending events in support of local charities such as the HeadNorth Foundation, Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, the New Children's Museum and the Kawasaki Disease Foundation. Additionally, Ms. Saunders has volunteered for more than ten years with Samoyed Rescue of Southern California fostering dogs, manning phone lines and visiting shelters to rescue Samoyeds in jeopardy of being euthanized.  She is a docent for a parent-led public school science program, Science Attack, which brings science to children who would not otherwise have it as part of their curriculum. 

Ms. Saunders is a graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law where she was named a member of the Order of the Coif and served as an Assistant Editor of the San Diego Law Review.
