Mintz Levin Attorney Mitchell L. Lathrop Named Best Lawyers’ San Diego Insurance Law Lawyer of the Year

San Diego, CA – Mintz Levin attorney Mitchell L. Lathrop has been named the San Diego Best Lawyers Insurance Law Lawyer of the Year for 2012. Best Lawyers, which compiles annual listings of outstanding lawyers through a rigorous peer-review process, selects a single lawyer in each specialty in each community to honor as the “Lawyer of the Year.” These lawyers have received particularly high ratings by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
Mr. Lathrop is a Member in the firm’s Litigation Section. His practice focuses on reinsurance and insurance law, securities litigation, complex civil litigation, domestic and international arbitration, environmental law, and dispute resolution. He frequently serves as an expert witness on insurance and reinsurance matters in both state and federal courts.
Mr. Lathrop has been selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America for insurance law in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, he was appointed as an expert witness to the Westlaw Round Table Group. He is active in the arts community and currently serves as an advisory director of the Metropolitan Opera and as the president of the Metropolitan Opera National Council.
He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law, and a diploma in International Arbitration Law from the College of Law of England and Wales.
