Global Counsel 3000 Report Recognizes Mintz Levin as Top Biotechnology Firm

Boston, MA -  Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC and the Chair of the Firm's Biotechnology practice, Jeffrey Wiesen, were listed among the top law firms and individual attorneys in the biotechnology field, according to the PLC Global Counsel 3000 2003/2004 Edition report, recently released by the Practical Law Company. The report recognizes Mintz Levin as "Highly Recommended" in the Life Sciences: Biotechnology field.  Jeffrey Wiesen, a Partner in the Business & Finance practice and Chair of the Firm's Biotechnology practice, was named a  "Leading Individual" in the Life Sciences: Biotechnology field, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jeffrey Wiesen serves as Chairman of Mintz Levin's Biotechnology Practice, and is a member of the firm's Policy Committee. He was involved in the formation of some of the earliest companies, and the structuring and negotiation of some of the industry's earliest strategic alliances, venture financings and public offerings and has led Mintz Levin's Biotechnology Group to become one of the largest and best known in the country. Jeff also serves as General Counsel to the Massachusetts Biotechnology Counsel, on the Advisory Board of the Whitehead Institute, the Advisory Council of the MIT-Harvard Health Sciences and Technology Program, and the Board of Directors of the Biomedical Science Careers Program.
