Immigration Attorneys Susan Cohen and Grant Sovern Given Special Recognition
Boston, MA ? The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court's Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services has selected Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. as one of three recipients of the John & John Quincy Adams Award, with special recognition to Susan J. Cohen and Grant S. Sovern, for their work on behalf of the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project. Justice Spina will present the award at an awards ceremony on June 8, 2005 in the main courtroom of the Supreme Judicial Court in the newly renovated Adams Courthouse.
Regarded as the most prestigious pro bono award given in Massachusetts, the John & John Quincy Adams Award identifies and honors individual lawyers, small and large law firms, government attorney offices, corporate law departments and other institutions in the legal profession that have enhanced the human dignity of others by improving or delivering volunteer legal services to the Commonwealth's poor and disadvantaged. This is the first time that the Committee has given an award for immigration work.
