Representative Experience

• Obtained regulatory approvals for a hospital building a new medical-surgical wing and a cancer center (jointly developed by a hospital, physician practice, and clinic) to  provide radiation oncology, chemotherapy, and related services.
• Worked with leaders of key regulatory agencies in Massachusetts to formulate regulations applicable to limited services clinics and successfully facilitated the opening of the first limited services clinics in Massachusetts.
• Represented a dialysis services provider in successfully obtaining certificates of need in the District of Columbia to open new dialysis centers, add modalities, and acquire the assets of another provider.
• Advised a national independent laboratory on regulatory and accreditation issues in connection with the division of the company and subsequent acquisition of a subsidiary and prepared filings to be submitted to all agencies.
• Convinced the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the Residency Review Committee to rescind its proposal to withdraw accreditation on an expedited basis and to restore the accreditation of a teaching hospital’s residency program.
