Many executives look to our attorneys for innovative assistance in structuring their own compensation arrangements as well as 401(k) retirement, profit sharing, employee stock ownership and flexible group benefit plans. Our firm's practice includes a working knowledge of all aspects of compensation, from insurance products to golden parachute restrictions, and from securities law concerns to Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) continuation rules. We design and implement all types of equity-based compensation arrangements, including qualified and nonqualified stock option programs, issuance of restricted shares and grants of stock appreciation rights (deferred compensation based on "phantom stock"). The creation of deferred compensation arrangements, partially or fully secured with trusts (depending on the desired tax treatment), is also one of our strengths.
