Our attorneys have litigated the full spectrum of complex business disputes, whether sounding in contract or tort. We’ve successfully litigated breach of contract claims against both federal and state government agencies, as well as those against private parties. We also have substantial experience handling lawsuits that involve partners, shareholders in close corporations, and corporate officers and directors.
We’ve aggressively prosecuted and defended disputes involving claims of fraud and alleged violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act to protect client investments and fend off ordinary business litigation claims that are being leveraged with the threat of mandatory trebling of damages under RICO. We represent both investors and companies in actions alleging breach of fiduciary duty and corporate waste.
We also regularly handle actions involving claims asserted against lawyers, accountants, actuaries, and other professionals; matters involving trustees or directors of public charities or non-profit entities; and unfair trade practices claims. Our litigators have considerable expertise in post-acquisition disputes, including cases arising out of stock and asset purchase agreements, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and collaboration agreements. We’re well-versed in the accounting, tax, indemnification and representation, and warranty issues that arise in such disputes.
