Colin's practice includes the following:

  • Litigating environmental cases in federal and state courts
  • Counseling clients in regulatory compliance, enforcement, and permitting matters before federal and state agencies
  • Advising clients in the remediation and redevelopment of contaminated properties under CERCLA and a variety of state regulatory programs in New England, New York, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, and California
  • Advising clients regarding the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, mergers and debt offerings; reviewing and drafting environmental provisions of lease agreements for laboratory, manufacturing and office spaces; and directing environmental due diligence activities
  • Assisting early-stage clean energy companies with strategic planning related to federal and state environmental policies and permitting

In 2011 and 2012, the firm received the Acquisition International Legal Award for “US Environmental Law Firm of the Year.” The awards celebrate excellence and reward firms, teams and individuals for their contribution to client service, innovation and commitment to quality.

Colin is a member of Mintz Levin’s Hiring Committee.

During law school, he was a note editor for the American Journal of Law and Medicine. He received his BA in American Studies from Wesleyan University. Colin and his family live in Sharon.

Representative Matters

  • Actively involved in the firm’s representation of the General Electric Company in Superfund matters in and outside of New England
  • Recently counseled clients regarding compliance with RCRA hazardous waste regulations; project permitting under the Clean Water Act and the Clean Air Act; and enforcement proceedings, including negotiation of administrative orders and consent decrees under the Clean Air Act and hazardous waste regulations
