Jim is Chair of the firm’s Wage and Hour Class Action Practice Group. He represents and counsels employers on a wide-range of federal and state employment issues, including wage and hour, employee classification, discrimination and harassment, leaves of absence, wrongful termination, and the enforcement of noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements.

His work on behalf of employers often extends to litigation, where he has represented clients in numerous actions before federal and state courts in cases involving claims for wage and hour violations, discrimination and harassment, breach of contract, defamation, noncompetition defense and enforcement, and shareholder disputes. A significant portion of his litigation practice involves defending employers against wage and hour class actions brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws.

Jim also represents both employers and executives in the negotiation and drafting of complex executive employment agreements. He has significant experience advising clients on the terms and use of offer letters, noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements, employee handbooks, and personnel policies.

Before joining Mintz Levin, Jim served for six years in the US Army Reserve as a civilian affairs specialist.
