Kimberly's practice focuses on regulatory and transactional matters, including corporate compliance and corporate governance, privacy and security, mergers and acquisitions, hospital-medical staff matters, and fraud and abuse issues.

Kimberly has extensive experience in the areas of privacy and security of patient information under HIPAA and state laws. She has prepared compliance programs, privacy policies, and business associate agreements, and has counseled clients on breach notification requirements. She also represents clients in the health information technology area and has counseled mobile app companies on privacy and FDA regulatory issues, startup funding and organization, and contract review, drafting and negotiation. Kimberly’s transactional experience includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and affiliations of hospitals, group practices, and other provider entities.  

Kimberly is a member of Mintz Levin’s Health Care Enforcement Defense Practice. She has represented and defended clients in matters involving the anti-kickback statute, the Stark law, state statutes prohibiting kickbacks and self-referrals, and the civil False Claims Act.

Kimberly regularly writes and speaks about a wide range of health care issues.  She has appeared before the American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, and New York State Bar Association, and she has co-authored articles for the New York Law Journal and BNA publications. She is also a frequent contributor to the Health Law Section’s Health Law and Policy Matters blog.

While in law school, Kimberly completed a judicial internship for the Honorable Phyllis Gangel-Jacob of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Term. She also served as the associate editor of the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal.
