Matt’s practice involves domestic and foreign patent prosecution primarily in the area of biotechnology, including the fields of biochemistry, organic chemistry, cellular and molecular biology, oncology, immunology, microbiology, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, stem cells, iRNA, microfluidics, and medical devices.

His practice also involves the preparation of validity and infringement opinions, freedom-to-operate analysis, and due diligence. Matt also advises clients on issues relating to patent portfolio management and licensing.

Prior to joining Mintz Levin, Matt’s scientific research focused on estrogen receptor and novel splicing factors in breast cancer. He is the author of numerous papers and abstracts in the field of estrogen receptor biochemistry and breast cancer progression.
