Paula served as a legal intern in the Fair Labor and Business Practices Division of the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, where she conducted research regarding bankruptcy, employee classification, and enforcement procedures. She also drafted responses to citizen inquiries regarding the Wage and Hour Law, and assisted in preparation for proceedings at the Division of Administrative Law Appeals and the Boston Municipal Court.

Additionally, Paula was a legal intern to Judge Reginald C. Lindsay, US District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where she researched, analyzed, and drafted bench memoranda on dispositive matters and varied motions. She also worked in the Corporation Counsel’s Office for the City of Boston where she negotiated and drafted technology provisions for a major city contract in her role as a Rappaport Honors Fellow in Law and Public Policy. As a Summer Associate at Mintz Levin, Paula drafted internal memoranda of research, managed two pro bono clients, and worked with a variety of attorneys preparing legal briefs and client correspondence.

Prior to attending law school, Paula was a Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions intern for US Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, a Teaching Fellow at Milton Academy, and a tenured teacher in the Boston Public Schools.
