Rob’s practice encompasses a wide variety of litigation matters, with an emphasis on litigation and counseling on federal and state labor and employment issues.

In the area of employment law, Rob has counseled his clients on discrimination and harassment, wage-and-hour, employee classification, wrongful termination, and the enforcement of noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements. He has handled employment and business litigation before federal and state courts, and administrative agencies, including state fair employment and human rights agencies.

Rob also has broad experience in general litigation matters, including complex business litigation, misappropriation of trade secrets, class action defense, attorney malpractice, securities litigation, and allegations of unfair and deceptive business practices. Rob has experience representing a wide range of clients from small privately held companies to large multinational public companies.

Prior to joining Mintz Levin, Robert was a corporate financial analyst at Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin, where he successfully completed mergers and acquisitions and prepared opinions for a variety of financial institutions. Before that, he worked at another investment bank, where he assisted legal counsel in preparation and support of a formerly displaced creditor class during bankruptcy hearings for Conseco, Inc. During this time, he obtained his Series 7 and 63 Registrations from the NASD (now FINRA). 

During law school, Rob won awards for outstanding legal writing and oral advocacy as well as a Jurisprudence Award for Professional Responsibility. In law school, Rob was also a staff member of the Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy and an invited member of the Moot Court Honor Board, where he served as president. 

Outside of his law practice, Rob is actively involved in public service. Rob volunteers as a writing instructor for Citizen Schools’ 8th Grade Academy Writing Program and assists the firm’s efforts in coaching student mock trial teams through the Discovering Justice organization. Rob also serves on the board of directors for Shelter Legal Services.

Representative Matters

  • Argued for and obtained a temporary restraining order in Suffolk Superior Court on behalf of a private company aggrieved by a former employee
  • Member of a litigation defense team representing life sciences and medical device corporations that defeated both a $220 million damages claim as well as trade secret misappropriation claims relating to a medical technology after a two-week trial and related hearings 
  • Member of a class action defense team that secured a settlement for a leading private consumer products company faced with claims of violations of California consumer protection statutes
