Intellectual Property Client Alert: "Looking for a New Domain Name? .BIZ and .INFO Are Waiting For You...But You Better Act Now!"

This advisory addresses the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approval of seven new top-level domain names on November 16, 2000. The names include .biz, .info, .name, .pro, aero, .coop, and .museum. The .biz domain will be used by businesses, .info will have unrestricted use, .name will be used as a registration for individuals and .pro will be used by accountants, lawyers and physicians. This advisory sets the approved procedures for registration of the .biz and .info top-level domains.
