Non-union employers must add another mandatory poster to the employee break room starting in November, thanks to a new rule issued by the National Labor Relations Board last week. The new rule requires private sector employers to post notices explaining employees’ unionization rights, regardless if their workplaces are unionized or union free. What’s more, failure to post the notice may be treated as an unfair labor practice under the National Labor Relations Act. Though the notices don’t need to be up until November 14, employers can prepare ahead of time to ensure their management is trained to answer employees’ questions lawfully.
