Recently the European Commission unveiled a proposal for a comprehensive and significant reform of the existing EU data protection framework. The proposed framework is intended to replace existing Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and the data protection laws of each EU Member State with a single set of rules that would apply across the 27 EU Member States.
