CLE Clip: Pharmacy Marketing Activities under the Medicare Part D Program

As the primary points of contact with beneficiaries, pharmacies and pharmacists play and will continue to play a crucial role in the implementation of the Medicare Part D Program.  One of the many challenging questions confronting pharmacists is what they can and cannot say, under the marketing guidelines of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to their customers about which prescription drug plans to join.  This article, written by Garrett Gillespie, an associate in the Health Section,  provides an overview of permissible and impermissible pharmacy and pharmacist marketing activities under the Medicare Part D Program.
