As a Project Analyst in the firm’s Boston headquarters, you will alternate through three eight-month rotations in various practice areas, including Litigation, Immigration, Health Law, and Energy Technology as well as in our government relations consulting affiliate, ML Strategies. Project Analysts also coordinate a large percentage of the firm’s community service initiatives.
Though there is not a formal rotation process for analysts in the New York office, you will spend time working primarily in the firm’s Corporate & Securities, Litigation, and Real Estate practices.
In the DC office, you will spend your first year working across various practice areas and your second year working nearly exclusively with our government relations consulting affiliate, ML Strategies.
The best part about being a Summer Associate at Mintz Levin is the opportunity to engage in challenging, meaningful work alongside supportive peers and Associates and Members who are eager to teach.
The people at Mintz Levin truly distinguish the firm as a great place to work and build a career. I saw this from my initial interviews to the conclusion of the summer program. Both Members and Associates invested in providing me with the tools to succeed as an attorney. The work was challenging and interesting, and I was introduced to a community of very supportive people who love what they do and enjoy working together.
From the very first day, I felt like I had become part of a community that genuinely cares about my future success as an attorney. The training is thorough, the assignments are substantive, and people are supportive and collaborative.
Over the summer, I knew I would be surrounded by smart colleagues, but I had no idea they would also become great friends.
This summer has given me the opportunity to work closely with multiple attorneys in varying practice groups allowing me to see what it means to be a first-year Associate at this firm. I have learned that there is a true open door policy here; everyone is incredibly welcoming and excited to get to know and work with the Summer Associates. I couldn’t have asked for a better legal work environment to begin my career. I would recommend this summer program to anyone because even as a Summer Associate you will feel like a true asset to the firm.
I chose to spend my summer at Mintz Levin because I wanted to be a part of a smaller summer class while having the opportunity to work in a number of practice areas and to participate in the pro bono program. My impression of the firm was, and is still, that it is an incredible community — people are warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic about what they do.
I was attracted to Mintz Levin for many reasons. Notably, the firm’s practice structures and financial management ensure that even during a recession, the firm is incredibly stable and productive. As for the work environment, the collegial atmosphere was obvious during the interview phase, and within a week or two I honestly felt like I had found my ‘home.’
I believe one thing that sets us apart is that we are passionate about who walks through our
doors every day. We have created an environment built upon mutual respect and trust — one in which everyone is made to feel an important part of the team. We work very hard but don’t take ourselves too seriously. It is amazing how productive people can be when they like where they work.
Before I joined the firm in 2007, I had worked with Mintz Levin lawyers on a few matters and was always impressed by their integration into their clients' business decision process. My experience since joining Mintz Levin has been consistent with those initial perceptions: in approaching the practice of law, as informed, involved and trusted advisors, my colleagues at Mintz Levin achieve more effective results for my clients.
After completing my PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology at Harvard, I joined the IP Practice at Mintz Levin. I was seeking a career where my scientific knowledge would be both required and valued. Working collaboratively with my talented colleagues to help our biotechnology and life sciences clients achieve their objectives has been a rewarding experience. I feel fortunate to be part of a firm that is so supportive of my career development, from sponsoring me to attend law school part-time, to providing continuous mentoring.
It has been a pleasure to work at Mintz Levin for the past 24 years. Though I worked at other law firms, there is a unique atmosphere at Mintz Levin that is not found in other firms. I have been able to meet and interact with people at all levels of the firm and have never sensed any barriers. More importantly, I have always felt part of a team whose sole purpose is to provide our clients with the best legal services we can offer. Everyone pitches in and works hard and that dedication is rewarded. It is truly a great place to work.
I feel fortunate to work for a firm that attracts so many down-to-earth, open-minded, and smart people — and that’s at every level, from Legal Assistants, partners, paralegals, Associates, Managing Clerk’s office, HR, to our amazing Receptionists. It’s an environment that values open communication, creative problem-solving, and big-picture teamwork. To know that your work matters on a daily basis and that your peers share your commitment to produce the best product possible — and to have fun while doing it — is a great feeling.
