Last week, the Florida Senate Health Policy Committee removed language from proposed telehealth legislation that would require Medicaid reimbursement for telemedicine services at the same rates as face-to-face examinations.

New York Passes Telemedicine Reimbursement Legislation

New York became the 22nd state to sign into law legislation that will require commercial and Medicaid plans to provide coverage of telehealth and telemedicine services. The law, originally intended to take effect on January 1, 2015, will become effective on January 1, 2016.

The AMA Adopts New Telemedicine Guiding Principles

The AMA’s guiding principles come on the heels of the Federation of State Medical Board’s (FSMB) adoption of its new model telemedicine guidelines and largely echoes the state boards’ views with a few notable exceptions.

OIG Advisory Opinion Permits Donation of Telemedicine Items and Services
