Mintz is pleased to announce that Matthew R. Howsare, Chair, Consumer Product Safety Practice, has been named President of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO). He will serve as the ICPHSO President for the 2019-2020 year.
ICPHSO, founded in 1993, is the only organization which attracts a global membership of health and safety professionals and meets annually to exchange ideas, share information, and address health and safety concerns affecting all consumers. The ICPHSO board determines basic policies, sets goals and objectives, elects officers and approves the budget in accordance with the bylaws of the organization.
Mr. Howsare is a prominent consumer product safety lawyer who advises manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, trade associations, and test laboratories. He has extensive experience with compliance, regulatory enforcement, recalls, and other product safety related issues. He represents clients before the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Health Canada, the Federal Trade Commission, Congress, and state agencies. Mr. Howsare draws on his four-year tenure as the CPSC chief of staff and his many years advising clients in private practice to devise practical and resourceful solutions for clients.
