Future Energy Startup-Investor Pitch in collaboration with the MIT Clean Energy Prize: April 4th (applications due March 6)

Ultra Light Startups recognizes that game-changing ideas in alternative and renewable energy require capital to develop. Ultra Light also knows that investors are looking for companies and ideas with breakthrough potential. That is why Ultra Light hosts monthly pitch events. If you are an entrepreneur with a radical solution to the world’s energy challenges, or if you are interested in  high-risk, high-potential energy ideas, join Ultra Light on April 4, 2013 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 6:30pm EST. Advanced energy startups, we encourage you to apply to pitch. Applications are due on March 6, 2013.

This conference will feature 8 energy startups and research projects presenting to a panel of prominent venture capital investors including Rockport CapitalEarthrise CapitalShell International (lead sponsor of Future Energy), New Enterprise AssociatesBatelle VenturesClean Energy Venture GroupBlack Coral Capital, Terawatt Ventures, VenrockGeneral Catalyst Partners, and more. Targeted sectors include:

  • Conventional oil and gas technology (exploration, recovery, and extraction)
  • Non-conventional oil and gas technology
  • Alternative and renewable energy (solar, wind, hydrogen, biofuels, geothermal, etc.)
  • Renewable and bio-based chemicals
  • Mobility / smart mobility
  • Energy efficiency / smart grid
  • Energy finance and trading technologies

Since 2008, over 40 companies presenting at Ultra Light Startups events have raised venture capital and over 140 have raised angel funding.
