Central to the success of an Accountable Care Organization (ACO) is its ability to successfully manage population health in a way that results in fiscal efficiency and savings, while enhancing clinical quality and outcomes. Patient engagement and coordination of care between primary care and behavioral health settings are integral aspects of successful population health management. Behavioral health issues have significant implications for an ACO; failure to identify and treat psychiatric and psychological illness or conditions has both a direct and indirect effect on patient engagement, population health management, cost and outcomes. This webinar explores the legal and practical implications of integrating behavioral health in the context of an ACO.
