b'Event Recaps Mintzs First Annual Energy Transition SummitMintz hosted its inaugural Energy Transition Summit for more than 100 energy sector leaders on October 6. The event kicked off with a candid conversation between keynote speaker Dr. Ernest J. Moniz, President and CEO of the Energy Futures Initiative and former US Secretary of Energy, and Tom Burton, Chair of Mintzs Energy & Sustainability Practice. They explored a broad spectrum of opportunities and challenges related to the industrys shift to new energy technologies. Several panels and discussions also took an in-depth look at current trends, what lies on the horizon, and the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA). For our panels, we convened groups of business leaders and investment professionals to discuss how companies at different phasesearly-stage, scaling growth, and at-scaleare and could be involved in the energy transition. In our three Fireside Chats, we heard from Mintz Member Anne Levin-Nussbaum and ML Strategies Senior Vice President Courtney Taylor on how the IRA is likely to impact energy transition financing. In another presentation, a speaker with high-level energy sector and federal government experience talked about being encouraged by the strength of the technology available to make the transition.
