We regularly advise communications companies on the latest legislative and policy activities in the area of cybersecurity. We assist clients with reviewing and analyzing the business and legal implications of cyber-related orders, regulatory developments, and policy developments emanating from the White House, Federal agencies, and key public-private entities working on cybersecurity issues. The Communications Section also is actively involved in reviewing, drafting, and analyzing cybersecurity legislation and oversight activities on Capitol Hill.
We also represent communications companies and trade associations on legal, regulatory, and policy matters regarding privacy and data security. We have considerable experience in the Communications Act privacy provisions governing cable, broadband and telecommunications services, key portions of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act applicable to communications providers, and the privacy and data security frameworks administered by the Federal Trade Commission. We are also actively involved in review, analysis, and advocacy related to privacy and data security legislation on Capitol Hill.
