Erin is a seasoned patent agent with more than 10 years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution. She is well versed in the appeal, reissue, and expedited examination procedures at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Her experience also encompasses patentability and infringement analyses, as well as due diligence projects. Erin’s experience extends across the technology areas of medical devices including diagnostic instrumentation and analytic software, communication and wireless technologies, and complex electronic and software systems.

Erin joined Mintz Levin from a well-known, multi-practice law firm where her work as a patent agent included all aspects of the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in high tech, medical technology, communications, and consumer products. During her tenure, Erin advised inventors and small businesses on patent protection and collaborated with product development and marketing teams.  Prior to that, Erin worked as a patent agent for a global law firm, where she led a successful appeal of rejected claims relating to wireless technology, resulting in immediate allowance. Her detailed submissions for accelerated examination requests resulted in the allowance of several patent applications on an accelerated basis. She also evaluated intellectual property portfolios as part of due diligence activities for potential acquisitions. Earlier in her career, Erin served as a patent agent for Philadelphia’s largest intellectual property law firm, where she prepared and prosecuted patent applications in electrical engineering and computer science fields. Prior to her law firm experience, Erin completed graduate level coursework focusing on communications and signal processing.
