Julie is an experienced Patent Agent with particular knowledge of patent prosecution, application drafting, and materials science and engineering research.

Julie drafts and prosecutes patent applications relating to medical devices, sports equipment, green materials and energy sources, fuel processing, electronics accessories, and electronic transactions.

Prior to joining Mintz Levin, Julie worked in-house for a carbon sequestration start-up, where she pursued patent applications in both foreign and domestic jurisdictions, utilizing accelerated prosecution programs, such as the USPTO’s Green Technology Pilot Program. Her work there focused on the areas of materials chemistry, waste gas treatment apparatus, and materials processing, among others.

During graduate school, Julie was a research fellow at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where she investigated the biocompatibility characteristics of titanium implants, crafted and refined protocols for calcium phosphate deposition on titanium oxide surfaces, and conducted experiments that utilized simultaneous surface chemistry techniques, such as electrochemistry, ellipsometry, atomic force microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.
