Pooja is an experienced Patent Agent who prepares applications, drafts claims, and prosecutes cases relating to technologies such as synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, polymers, and medical devices before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In addition, she regularly conducts opinions on validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate matters; provides strategic intellectual property evaluations; manages complex patent portfolios; and conducts inventorship determinations.

Prior to joining Mintz, Pooja worked for a large international law firm and for a firm specializing in intellectual property law. Earlier she was a post-doctoral research scientist at Novartis, and she also worked as a graduate research assistant and graduate teaching assistant at Ohio State University.

Pooja earned her PhD in Organic Chemistry with a dissertation entitled, Studies Toward the Total Synthesis of (+)-Hyperaspine. She has authored patent prosecution articles, taught patent prosecution courses, and presented her scientific research at conferences nationwide.
