Law360 Names Mintz's Rebecca Raphaelson Among Construction Rising Stars for 2022

Boston, MA – Mintz is pleased to announce that Member Rebecca Raphaelson was named to Law360’s Construction Rising Stars for 2022, an annual compilation of lawyers under the age of 40 whose legal accomplishments transcend their age. Of the 1,350 applicants, winners were selected based on their career accomplishments in their respective disciplines with only five being chosen for the construction practice area.

In a profile, Law360 spotlighted Ms. Raphaelson’s role as counsel for the DivcoWest Cambridge Crossing project, a 45-acre Massachusetts development straddling Cambridge, Boston and Somerville. The development will include medical research centers, retail, apartment complexes and 11 acres of green space, and is currently the largest mixed-use development underway on the East Coast.

The publication also noted her pro bono work with Building for Good, a national platform linking charities and nonprofits with skilled construction lawyers who provide pro bono construction law services. Notably, Ms. Raphaelson has represented Cradles to Crayons, an organization that provides resources such as school supplies and clothing to homeless and low-income children, and Stone House, which helps adults, children, and family survivors of domestic violence.

As a member of Mintz’s Construction Law Practice Group, Ms. Raphaelson has represented property owners, developers, and general contractors in construction disputes in the public and private sectors. She has experience counseling clients on contract formation, project delays, terminations, mechanics’ liens, and defective work. Ms. Raphaelson has also drafted and negotiated general contractor and architect agreements, subcontracts, consultant agreements, construction management agreements, and other project-related documents. She has extensive experience with both AIA and custom construction forms and is effective in reaching consensus on critical contract language to mitigate risk for her clients.

In addition to this distinction, Ms. Raphaelson has been recognized as an “Up and Coming” attorney in Construction Law by Chambers USA, a “Rising Star” in Construction Law by Legal 500, and a “Top Lawyer” in Construction Litigation by Boston Magazine.
