Israeli companies and individuals have recently come under the scrutiny of US regulators investigating possible violations of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). The investigations have touched upon several key sectors of the Israeli economy, including technology, energy, defense, health care, life sciences, and mining. In at least one instance, significant penalties have been assessed.

The US Supreme Court’s recent decision in Commil v. Cisco held that a good-faith belief of a patent’s invalidity, standing alone, is insufficient to provide a defense to a claim of inducing another’s infringement of a US Patent.
