Mintz’s Ben Wagner to Receive San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program Pro Bono Publico Award
Ben L. Wagner, an attorney in the San Diego office of Mintz, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been selected to receive the Pro Bono Publico Award from the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program (SDVLP). Mr. Wagner and other SDVLP award recipients will be honored at the organization’s SDVLP’s annual Justice for All Celebration on September 19 at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
The SDVLP Pro Bono Publico Award honors a San Diego attorney who has selflessly provided legal services on behalf of SDVLP. Mr. Wagner was selected for his pro bono work on behalf of victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Ben, who has been a tireless advocate for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence,” said Susan M. Finegan, Chair of Mintz’s Pro Bono Committee and a Member of the firm’s Litigation Practice. “His work has made a real and lasting difference. We’re delighted that the San Diego Lawyers Program has selected him for this honor.”
Mr. Wagner and other attorneys in the San Diego office have worked at restraining order clinics, represented victims at hearing for permanent injunctions and successfully completed a number of appeals on behalf of victims of domestic violence.
The San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, Inc, founded in 1983, serves more than 5,000 individuals annually, providing a wide-ranging array of pro bono services in San Diego County. Lawyers from large firms to sole practitioners, with all types of legal expertise, volunteer their time by providing pro bono legal services to abused women, children, the homeless, veterans, immigrants, the seriously ill and many others who otherwise would go without legal representation.
