  • Represented Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) — a global provider of energy efficient lighting products and systems and services and a leader in lighting — in multiple acquisitions, including its recent acquisition of Once Inc., a provider of animal-centric lighting products.
  • Certain LED Photographic Lighting Devices and Components Thereof (337-TA-804) – Represented the complainant (plaintiff) that makes LED lighting systems for use in film and TV production at the International Trade Commission. The ITC issued a General Exclusion Order (GEO) enjoining not only the named respondents based in both China and the United States but also all importers of infringing LED photographic lighting devices and their components. The result in this case is particularly notable because it is rare for the ITC to issue a GEO due to the rigorous criteria and careful balancing of interests that apply to requests for GEOs.
  • Effectively Illuminated Pathways LLC v. Home Depot USA, Inc. et al, (EDTX, 2:10cv00566) - Plaintiff EIP LLC alleged our client, defendant, infringed U.S. Patent No. 6,580,228, titled "Flexible substrate mounted solid-state light sources for use in line current lamp sockets".  After preliminary discussion of substantive defenses, the plaintiff dismissed the action.
  • Represented GE Lighting/Current by GE in multiple cases defending its LED business against non-practicing entities claiming patent infringement.
